Spesometro: operational by next May 2011
Virtually every simple purchase of citizens, more than certain amount, will be filed. A real contribution to the fight against tax evasion?
Some clarifications: The investigation summary is increasingly the method of investigation used by the IRS.
With the new 'spesometro' of information already in possession of the tax, thanks to the databases, will add the information from new communications relating to purchases from traders. For example, the purchase of a bicycle race that can overcome the most demanding of 3,500 €, or a ring or diamond, will be indicated by the seller in the new notices. This expenditure, added to the other arising from the same communications and those arising from data held by the Treasury, may determine the deemed income of the taxpayer which, however, can defend itself by showing that spending comes not only from the income year, but also by past earnings or exempt.
